Hello fellow rabbit breeders my name is Donna Parnell I live in Sagle Idaho with my 7 year old daughter Courtney, 3 dogs, 2 ponies and of course the bunnies. We raise Standard Rex in Black, Blue and Red and Courtney's Chinchilla's. I have raised rabbits on and off my whole life. When I was trying to decide on a first pet for Courtney one of my first thoughts was a rabbit. I started out looking for Red New Zealands but came across some Red Rexes at the Spokane Interstate Fair, what a beautiful rabbit, so that's how we got started with Rex. We've only had them for 6 years but really love them and their wonderful fur. I started going to ARBA show's about 4 years ago and am hooked, I have met some TERRIFIC people who raise rabbits, the show's are always a lot of fun and I especially enjoy picking on the judges (you know who you are). The rabbits and the shows have been great therapy for me and Courtney, we lost her father 7 years ago and I must say if you are feeling down a bunny hug can do great things. Hope to see you at the show's with your beautiful bunnies! Contact Me...
Sherri Smith here...I was born in Boise, Id. and have lived in the Treasure Valley for
most of my life, except for a short span of 6 years on the beautiful Oregon
coast in Brookings. I am currently a Rabbit Registrar, I got my license 4
years ago. I have been married 31 years, 1 son, 1 daughter/son-in-law and
a grandaughter. I work at a cancer treatment center as a patient
service specialist.
I actually got my first rabbit from a pet store when I was 10 years
old, but my dad made me take it back. 20 years later my children and I went to
Crescent City, CA. My daughter picked out a black dutch doe and my
son picked a chin mini lop and that was the start of our rabbit raising
saga - including several years of 4-H involvement. 23 years later, my
children are grown and no longer raising rabbits, but are always
interested in whats in Mom's barn. Breeds that have been through that barn include:
Dutch, Jersey Wooly, English Angora, Dwarf Hotot, Holland Lop,
Netherland Dwarf, Red Satins, Blue Eyed Beveren, and Lionhead. We also
had cavies during the 4-H years. Currently Hollands and ND take up the
majority of the barn space, with a few token representatives of past breeds that have
been retired.
I am currently the secretary/treasurer of the Idaho State Rabbit
Breeders Assoc. and treasurer of Snake River Rabbit & Cavy Club. Contact Me...
